W E L C O M E !
Hello, and welcome to amymarieorozco.com. I am a writer/editor offering Creative Services and Shop Amy. Creative Services includes using the tools of improv for training in the workplace, facilitating writing classes, and journal/book-making workshops. Shop AMO has a variety of goods handmade by yours truly and other area artisans.
Here’s some really big news: I have joined with two other local woman to form a cannabis company. KopSun is an information and education resource with its eyes on a cannabis product line (but you know how loooong these governmental licensing things can take, particularly in the cannabis industry).
Meanwhile, my byline continues to appear in trade publications, consumer magazines, newspapers, blogs, and company Web sites, among other outlets. My work also publishes under another person's name. I am fortunate enough to be a well sought-after ghostwriter (thanks to my keen sense of discretion, so don’t ask for names). Additionally, I volunteer my publicity/media relations expertise to Catalyst for Cats, a Santa Barbara County-based nonprofit. I also serve on the board of directors of the Carpinteria Valley Historical Society.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, I taught English abroad and in the United States. I wrote for newspapers and magazines in my post-teaching life before starting my own firm.
On a personal note, I love travel, animals, olive oil, and tons of other stuff. I’m lucky that way – I’m good natured and usually find my days aren’t long enough to get everything done. My husband Alonzo and I make our home in the Santa Barbara area of Central California.
